The Ready Position
This is essential for:
- Efficient fast sideways movement.
- To play effective table tennis strokes whilst maintaining balance.
Key Points:
- Feet apart slightly more than shoulder width.
- Bend at the knees.
- Lean forward from the waist so weight is on ball of feet.
- Body should be Arm’s length from table.
- Bat should be held in front of the body, above the table for easy transfer to forehand and backhand.
